Vietnam - A group of illegal loggers assaulted two forest officials in central Quang Ngai Provinces Son Ha District as they were recording the seizure of a load of wood from the loggers Tuesday.
Dinh Van Chi, deputy chairman of Son Giang Commune, and Dinh Van Anh, an official from the Thach Nham Forest Board, were the victims of the attack.
The loggers beat Anh until he lost consciousness and dumped him in a nearby field.
They then went to his house to vandalize his motorbike, telephone, and other household objects.
They also went to Chis house and threatened to kill him for taking action against them.
Anh was later admitted to the Son Ha District Health Center.
