Trade - Make a Difference!
Who trades/works with timber can save the forests
Not only trade (and craft) can be held responsible for forest destruction. But by its choice of products and competent advice it can help avoid products of doubtful origin and promote sustainable products and thus directly contribute to better forest management.
Good customer service is characterized by background information and advice. Therefore transparency is necessary and above all a reply to the question: where does the timber for a piece of furniture originally come from? Information about the origin and production of timber products does play an important role for the customer.
If the origin is not traceable, we have to assume that the timber derives from destructive logging or that trees have been cut illegally.
Trade plays a crucial role for the protection of forests! Please help us save the remaining forests!
Remember: Timber is the right choice well into the future.
Timber is a popular material and of multiple use. We use it as building material and appreciate the warm looks of wooden furniture. Timber is a renewable resource, it is environmentally friendly, unproblematic to dispose of and a future-proof material.
To remain a future-oriented material, forests must be managed in a sustainable way, i.e. the remaining forests must be managed in a responsible way so that future generations can still use the forest sustainably. First and foremost the forests must be preserved for (indigenous) people living in and from the forest, with all its animal and plant species. Only as an intact ecosystem can the forest fulfill its diverse functions.
